Keepsake Jewellery - Terms & Conditions

Keepsake items are made from Silver Clay (either PMC or Art Metal Clay) and due to the organic nature of this product and the bespoke design process to create your unique piece, there may be some variations from the products photographed on this site.  The items photographed on the site are representative.

If you would like a handwritten message or name written on your item or would prefer a particular font, please let me know at time of ordering and I will do my best to accomodate your request.

It is essential that all personalisations, such as spellings, shape of item etc are correct on your order at the time of submission as I am unable to amend these details once your item(s) has been made.

Babies do not generally have defined fingerprints until after 12 months of age, so if you are looking to get a keepsake from a baby 12 months or less it would be better to either wait until their fingerprints have fully formed or otherwise, select a footprint or handprint item instead.

Once I receive your order I will post out the appropriate kit to you within 48 hours by first class mail.  You will be sent an impression kit for fingerprint orders or an inkless wipekit for hand or footprint orders. Full instructions for making impressions or taking prints are included. You are entitled to one kit per order.  If there is any doubt that the impression or prints are sub-standard and will not provide a satisfactory result on your item, I can send out an additional kit, although you will need to pay a further £4.00 for the additional kit including postage.

When a satisfactory impression or print is made, you then return the impression or prints and a personalisation form to me and I will begin making your item.  Once I receive your returned impression or prints, I am unable to cancel your order as it is highly likely I will have begun making your item.

If you cancel your order by contacting me via email prior to me sending out your impressions kit or inkless wipe print kit, you will be entitled to a full refund.  However, if you cancel your order once I have already sent your kit in the post, a charge of £8 per kit dispatched will be made to cover expenses.

All keepsake items are made from Fine Silver, which is 99.9% pure silver. This type of silver is slightly softer than sterling silver and therefore extra care of your item should be taken. Please avoid knocking or scratching the item, or wearing it when bathing or showering.

Your item(s) should be ready within 3 weeks of receipt of your impression(s) or print(s).  In some cases the process may be quicker, however, I allow this length of time since once your item has been made I will send it to the Assay office in London to be laser hallmarked.

Hallmarking means that the article has been independently tested and guarantees that it conforms to all legal standards of purity.

A complete hallmark consists of three compulsory punch marks:

  • Sponsor's (or maker's, manufacturer's or name) mark
  • Metal and fineness (purity) mark
  • Assay Office mark

It is a legal requirement to hallmark articles containing precious metals if they are described as such, in the case of silver, if the item being sold weighs over 7.78g it must be hallmarked. It is illegal for someone to sell an item that is silver and weighs over 7.78g and it is not hallmarked.

Whilst cufflinks are made of fine silver, they will have silver sterling T-bars soldered onto the fine silver 'heads'.  In terms of hallmarking, if an item is made up of two grades of silver e.g. fine silver (999) and sterling silver (925), the item will always be stamped with the purity mark of the lower grade silver, therefore, cufflinks will have the 925 purity mark.  The same applies to keepsake keyrings as the keyring chain and keyring attached to the fine silver pendant are made of sterling silver, hence, this item will have the 925 purity mark.

Sterling silver necklaces and bracelets are sold separately to the charms and pendants, hence your charms or pendants will be hallmarked as fine silver.
